ABOUT ME
My name is Victoria Arenz. I am a first-year master's student studying urban planning and design at the University of Georgia, College of Environment and Design. In May of 2020, I had the privilege of graduating from the Savannah College of Art and Design - Atlanta campus, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design. After graduating from SCAD, I was accepted into the University of Georgia's highly competitive MUPD program.
After higher education, I wish to better the city of Atlanta as well as others. I was born and raised here. It is a culturally, artistically, and stylistically diverse community that the citizens are all proud of. However, Atlanta is not perfect. Recently, we have become more aware of these imperfections. Our city needs to heal; our country needs to heal. I want to be a part of that healing process and help; however, I can.
I strive to bring aspects of the past as it plays an essential role in designing for the future, and I wish to carry that into my ideas while studying in the graduate program. Through my pursuit of a creative career, I have the ability to comfort the sad, bring peace to the restless, and provide a home for the outcasts. Through this path, I will be able to further my mission of helping my community and others the best way I know how by providing my creativity in service to others. Following the Jesuit ideal, “We need to be people for others.”
