Marriott International is looking to open its next location of the Edition Hotel line, a line of unique boutique hotels, in the heart of Midtown Atlanta. While having other locations in "the world's top cities," they are interested in Atlanta because of its style and historic, southern charm along with its growth as a modern, urban center and the movie industry. This hotel is intended to blur the lines between guests and locals while maintaining a high level of sophistication and luxury.
VERNACULAR DESIGN
The Edition brand is notable due to its designers' use of historic themes from the city the hotel is located in which makes the design of each hotel unique from the others. This hotel stands as a staple of Atlanta through the use of materials such as yellow brick, local wood, and metals to anchor the site in the city's past while establishing an overall modern feel to reflect the city's future.
